Deze volle, levendige Chardonnay is afkomstig van 25 tot 35 jaar oude wijnstokken op een hoogte 300-400 meter. De onderlaag van deze wijngaarden is een kalkrijk, Jurassisch plateau in het Westen van de ‘Côte’. Fermentatie geschiedt deels op roestvrij staal, deels op houten vaten. Hierna rijpt de wijn 8 maanden op barriques, waarvan 50% nieuw. Dit is Hautes Côtes ten voeten uit: Veel power, wat vanille en kruidige hints, een lange, aanwezige afdronk waarbij het kalkrijke terroir mooi doorschemert.
This fullbodied, lively Chardonnay comes from 24 to 35 year old vines on an altitude of 300-400 metres. Subsoil of these vineyards is a limestone-rich, Jurassic plateau situated in the west of the ‘Côte’. Fermentation takes place partially on stainless steel, partially in oak. Afterwards the wine ripens for another 8 months on barriques, from which 50% new. This is a true Hautes Côtes: Lots of power, some vanilla and spicy hints and a long and present finale with the chalky terroir beautifully shining through.
