Castello di Bibbione is een landhuis in het hart van de Chianti-streek en kent een lange, rijke geschiedenis. De eigenaren tot op de dag van vandaag zijn de nazaten van Macchiavelli, die het domein kocht in 1511. Er staat tegenwoordig 16 hectare Sangiovese en 8 hectare Merlot aangeplant. De oudste coöperatie in de streek draagt zorg voor de wijnen. Deze Chianti Classico is afkomstig van wijnstokken tussen de 15 en 30 jaar oud. De bodem van de wijngaarden bestaat uit losse stenen en kalkrijke kiezels. Alle druiven worden met de hand geoogst. De blend bestaat uit 90% Sangiovese en 10% Merlot. De wijn rijpt 12 maanden op grote Sloveense vaten. Deze Chianti is met recht een Classico: Rijk van stijl, maar heeft ook de frisheid en elegantie die je verwacht van de Sangiovese.
Castello di Bibbione is a manor in the heart of the Chianti-region and has a long and rich history. Owners until this very day are the offspring of Macchiavelli, who bought the estate in 1511. 16 hectares of Sangiovese and 8 hectares of Merlot are planted nowadays. The oldest cooperative in the region takes care of the wines. This Chianti Classico comes from vines between 15 and 30 year old. The soil of the vineyards consists of rock fragments and chalky pebbles. All grapes are hand harvested. The blend consists of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Merlot. The wine ripens for 12 months on big Slovenian barrels. This Chianti is a rightful Classico: Rich in style, yet the freshness and elegance one can expect from the Sangiovese.
